Notice: Change for Absentee Filing
Pursuant to 203B.05, as amended by HF No. 4240, the City of Greenfield is designated to administer in-person voting 18 days before election day. Absentee drop-offs will be received at City Hall but no applications will not be processed.
Voting Before Election Day
An eligible voter can vote before Election Day in person or by mail. This process is called absentee or early voting.

Voters also may vote early in person at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. 6th St., Minneapolis, up to 28 days before an election.

*Vote by Mail
Any eligible voter can complete voting by mail. Ballots are mailed out in Official Election Mail envelopes and are issued at the start of absentee voting.
(46 days before Election Day - see dates above).
- Apply online for an absentee ballot
- If you cannot apply online, call 612-348-5151 to request a paper application.
- Mail your ballot in the pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope. Mailed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
- Drop off your ballot at City Hall during regular business hours or on Election Day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. We can only receive ballot drop-offs from Greenfield residents. A voter can also drop off up to three ballots on behalf of others; you must show your ID.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Voting Assistance and Helpful Resources
Let election staff or judges know that you need assistance:
- To read or mark a ballot.
- To obtain a magnifying device or a chair to use in the voting booth.
- To use a ballot marking device or accessible technology.
- To vote at the curb. If you are unable to enter the polling location, call us at 952-826-0363 to arrange for curbside voting!
In special situations, you may ask an agent to pick up and return an absentee ballot for you within seven days of an election. This is called ‘agent delivery.’
